The Stargate TCG was first announced back in 2005. Except back then Genio Group, Inc. were to be making it. Sometime in March 2005 Genio went under and the TCG disappeared off the map. But sometime around September 2006, the news came: The Stargate TCG was back on! Designed by Sony and distrubuted by Comic Images, the SG TCG is available in both print and online form.
The premiere set, simply titled SG1, is based on pretty much the first 10 seasons of the series. It features almost every character imaginable which begs the question of how are they going to come up with new cards for expansions.
The Print version of the game contains all the usual types of cards you'd expect. This includes rares, foils and etc. The Online version however has a foil varient of every card in the SG1 set. It also has specially selected "video cards" which play a clip from the show.
